Why a party now?
Here's the deal: Pasadena Young Democrats has reached a point of transition. Virtually all of our current officers will age out or move away (school-related) in the next 6-18 months. We need a new generation of young leaders to step forward and take the reins of the club. At the same time, PYD is strong:
-- We have a strong relationship with the other clubs that comprise the Pasadena Area United Democratic Headquarters, and offer great opportunities for our members to be involved in the nuts and bolts of political campaigns (PYD members ran two of the 4 Assembly campaigns in the 2006 primary, for example);
We'll be planning Saturday's party and considering endorsements for the March municipal elections.
At the Caltech Y, 1350 San Pasqual, Pasadena.
Please join us for our January meeting on Thursday the 18th at 7:30pm. As usual, we'll be meeting at the Caltech Y. If you need directions or anything else call Rachel at 909-964-6866.

The Democrats now have control of both houses of Congress. On November 20, the Caltech Democratic Club (with support from the Pasadena Young Democrats, the Caltech Y Social Activism Speaker Series, and the Caltech Graduate Student Council) invite you to join us for "What the Election Meant", a discussion with Harold Meyerson, Executive Editor of The American Prospect, columnist at The Washington Post, and former Executive Editor of the LA Weekly. The discussion is free and open to all. It will take place at 8pm on Monday, November 20, in Caltech's Beckman Institute Auditorium.
At our October meeting, the Pasadena Young Democrats made the following endorsements for the 2006 election.
